eduroam (education roaming) is a worldwide cooperation in research and education to the shared use of each other’s wireless Internet (WiFi). eduroam uses RADIUS and 802.1x standard to communicate information about the user from the identity issuer (the user’s institution) to the service provider (the institution that stands for the wireless network). SWAMID is responsible for the Swedish branch of the international network eduroam.

eduroam is not only available for researchers, teachers and students at Swedish universities and university colleges but also for teachers and students at primary and secondary schools in Sweden. For more information about eduroam at primary and secondary schools see Skolfederation.se.
